fruit & veg :) It's now been 4 years since I first started and although it's hard work and a bit daunting at times, it's more than worth the effort and I just love being up on the plot. I took on the task of Chairman in September 2006 and am still learning the ropes - but we have great members and I have a very supportive committee, so am really enjoying the challenge.
Chairman - Lynda Hobley (plot 60)
After tasting home-grown vegetables during a visit to my cousin, I decided to take on allotment and try it myself - there is just nothing to beat the taste of freshly picked
Secretary - Amy Overy (plot 35)
I've wanted an allotment for as long as I can remember. My parents had one when we lived in Coventry, and my Grandad always grew vegetables and flowers in his garden. Living in London for five
years intensified my desire for a plot, as I only had a tiny concrete garden - so when my husband and I moved to Tring five years ago, I marched straight into the council offices and asked for an allotment! I love eating the food I've grown, especially spuds, salads and courgettesĀ in the summer. It's great exercise and incredibly sociable, and you can't beat that feeling of smugness when you walk pastĀ the overpriced bags of salad in the supermarket! I still struggle to grow parsnips though
Committee and Cooptee: Karen Fotheringham (Plot 93b)
I've always been interested in gardening, but alas never had a very big garden. We took over our plot in May 2006 as a result of my son's interest in growing seeds and not having enough space in the garden
Treasurer: Linda Donaldson
Kings seed coordinator: Mike Perry
